Investment Choice

AUSCOAL Super's investment focus is on delivering long term results for its members with a willingness to deviate from indexes and the industry peer groups.

AUSCOAL Super's mission is to provide a Fund that will meet its members total superannuation needs, through a diversified strategy that offers a wide range of investment choices and delivers competitive investment returns whilst protecting downside risk, enabling members to do what they want, when they want, with their super. With this in mind, investment choice is an important feature of AUSCOAL Super. Investment choice effectively gives you superannuation choice within AUSCOAL Super because it lets you decide where your super is invested.

Your investment options

One of the benefits of investing with AUSCOAL Super is that you can:

•  invest in the "Lifecycle Strategy" default option which has been carefully set up by the Trustee to reflect the changing risk tolerance of members as they grow older; or
• choose how your superannuation is invested by selecting from a range of diversified investment strategies and asset class options. Each investment option has its own investment objectives and strategies which are set out in detail in the Product Disclosure Statement.

From 1 July 2006, when you join the Fund, your super is automatically invested for you in the Trustee Default Lifecycle Strategy, which has been designed to keep pace with the changing needs of a typical member over their lifetime. Your super will be invested according to a pre-mixed investment strategy that is considered appropriate by the Trustee for your age.

If you do not wish to have your super invested in the Trustee Default Lifecycle Strategy, you can choose to invest in any of the four pre-mixed strategies, or any of the six asset class strategies. The pre-mixed strategies invest across a mix of asset classes. More information about the Fund's investment options is outlined in the Product Disclosure Statement.
